No chemicals are used on the farm or in Elanora's floristry practice. The chemicals used in large-scale commercial flower farms are harmful to the soil, surrounding ecosystems, native wildlife, and people. In commercial floristry, harmful chemicals are often used to help flowers last longer. But these chemicals can be toxic with long-term exposure, so Elanora does not use any chemicals in her botanical designs to protect herself, her children, and her clients. She is continually researching and developing her own eco-friendly practices for arranging and preserving flowers that are better for humans and the planet. 

Elanora is a visual artist who connects her painting and drawing practice with her farming and floristry work to reflect on the beauty inherent in nature. Painting her garden and floral designs is a meditation on the sense of awe for our planet that can be felt when we observe flowers coming into bloom.
